This role offers a structured six-month training and crash course in mechanical maintenance, designed to develop you into a full-time maintenance mechanic. You will support the installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of a wide range of industrial equipment in a new paper mill environment, working with experienced technicians while building your skills in mechanical systems, welding, and fluid power.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a new industrial paper mill facility that is currently being built and commissioned. The environment is primarily indoors, but conditions will vary with the seasons, typically hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You will work around heavy industrial equipment such as corrugators, cranes, pumps, transmissions, rotating equipment, and associated mechanical and fluid power systems. The maintenance team is planned to include up to 14 maintenance technicians, a supervisor, and a maintenance planner, fostering a collaborative, team-focused environment where individuals support each other and leverage their diverse skills. You will train on a day shift for approximately six months, then transition to a rotating shift schedule with alternating weeks of 36 hours and 48 hours, working either 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM. The role requires adherence to industrial safety practices and appropriate work attire suitable for a heavy industrial paper mill setting.
