Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Technical Lead to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise Power BI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI architecture, data modeling, DAX, semantic models, visualization, performance optimization, security, and enterprise data integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable enterprise Power BI solutions
• Define data models, semantic layers, DAX standards, report architecture, and visualization best practices
• Translate business requirements into effective Power BI reporting and analytics solutions
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate data from SQL Server, Azure, Dataverse, APIs , and other enterprise sources
• Optimize data models, DAX queries, reports, and dashboards for performance and scalability
• Establish Power BI development standards, governance, security, and best practices
• Conduct code and solution reviews and mentor Power BI developers
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and governance requirements
• Support deployments across Development, UAT, and Production environments
• Troubleshoot Power BI reports, datasets, refresh failures, gateway issues, and performance problems
• Manage Power BI environments, workspaces, datasets, semantic models, and deployment processes
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, data engineers, QA, and infrastructure teams
• Prepare technical documentation, standards, deployment procedures, and support guides

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of total IT experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI
• Minimum 7 years of work history in Canada
• Strong expertise in Power BI architecture, data modeling, semantic models, DAX, and report development
• Experience integrating data from SQL Server, Azure, Dataverse, APIs, and enterprise data sources
• Strong understanding of Power BI security, governance, workspace management, and deployment
• Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical delivery
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Must be eligible for Pro-B Security Clearance
