Construction Management Intern (Summer 2027) | Crain Construction, Inc.  Nashville | Summer Internship

We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented intern to join our general contracting team this summer. You’ll get hands-on experience in construction operations, project coordination, site safety, and day-to-day field and office work. Along the way, you’ll learn from experienced professionals while contributing to real projects in a fast-paced environment.

We can build almost anything, but we specialize in commercial projects, including ground-up construction, renovations, multi-story hospitality, retail, industrial, education and multi-use structures.

What You’ll Do

Support the Project Team

• Help coordinate construction activities between field teams, subcontractors and project staff
• Support project documentation, including reports, logs, schedules and meeting notes
• Take part in team meetings and contribute to project coordination
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the construction team

Learn in the Field

• Join site visits, monitor jobsite progress and share your observations with the project team
• Support quality and safety checks as directed
• Help with material tracking, delivery coordination and inventory

Build Your Skills

• Learn how to review plans, specifications and other project documents

What You Bring

• Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related degree program, with sophomore standing or higher
• A willingness to learn, take direction and work as part of a team
• The ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
• Comfort working in the office and on active jobsites, following safety requirements and adapting as project priorities change

Bonus Points For

• Previous internship, project, shop or field experience in construction or a related industry
• Familiarity with construction terminology, drawings or scheduling tools
