REPAIRS MAINTENANCE & FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and proactive Maintenance & Facilities Technician to support our baker ies   locations in Manhattan . This position is responsible for completing general repairs, preventive maintenance, and routine facility inspections to keep each location safe, functional, clean, and well maintained.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, resourceful, and able to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently while coordinating closely with   our bakery  managers and outside vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and maintenance across multiple restaurant and bakery locations.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, doors, locks, shelving, fixtures, and equipment.
• Conduct weekly facility walkthroughs and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Create and manage a prioritized maintenance list with the management team.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and emergency repairs.
• Purchase and maintain an organized inventory of tools, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Coordinate with licensed contractors and outside service providers when specialized repairs are required.
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, open projects, expenses, and vendor visits.
• Ensure that all work is completed safely, professionally, and with minimal disruption to restaurant operations.
• Help maintain the overall appearance and condition of each location.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, handyman, facilities, restaurant, hotel, bakery, or commercial property experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Able to work independently, manage priorities, and complete projects on schedule.
• Professional, courteous, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working in active restaurant and bakery environments.
• Able to communicate effectively in English with managers, employees, vendors, and contractors.
• Personal tools and trade certifications are a plus.

Physical and Scheduling Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb, carry, push, pull, and use ladders safely.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work different shifts and occasionally assist with urgent projects, weekends, or holidays when needed.

Job Type:   Full-Time
Schedule:  Monday–Friday; weekends and holidays if needed 
Pay:  [$25/30 per hour, based on experience]
Location: New York City — travel between bakery locations   in Manhattan  required
